چکیده

Pollution in aquatic ecosystems by various pollutants has been a concern recent decades because of the devastating effect posed on stability between receiving water bodies and biodiversity therein. Indigofera tinctoria used variety fields, including health medicine, as well industrial applications such textiles. The impacts I. freshwater fishes, mechanisms underlying biological effects, are, however, sparse. goal study was to see how affected Nile Tilapia (O. niloticus) juveniles' oxidative stress response, biochemical indicators, DNA disintegration, protein profile. For 21 days, 6 varying concentrations were applied fish, control. parameters test fish revealed considerable variation dose-response manner. In treated enzyme activity, when compared with control treatment, lipid peroxidation, fragmentation, all increased relative toxicant doses used. profiling modification credentials tinctoria-treated As per study, is toxic O. niloticus, particularly at higher doses. results this research could be biomonitoring studies tinctorial toxicity, applications. HIGHLIGHTS due its impact tinctoria, locally fabric dye studied for effects juveniles Study finds toxic, causing potentially affecting niloticus' muscle expression GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

Evaluation of Different Vaccination Strategies for Control of (mas) in Nile Tilapia (o. Niloticus) in Egypt

A highly pathogenic isolate of Aeromonas hydrophila, isolate No1, was identified through evaluation of the Crude extra-cellular product and estimation of LD50. Three types of formalized whole culture Aeromonas hydrophila vaccine (FWC) were prepared, FWC vaccine alone, FWC vaccine mixed with Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA), and FWC vaccine mixed with Freund's incomplete adjuvant (FIA), tested f...

Histological Changes in the Liver and Intestine of Nile Tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, Exposed to Sublethal Concentrations of Cadmium

Cadmium (Cd) is one of the most harmful heavy metal pollutants in aquatic environments. Fingerlings of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, were exposed to sublethal concentrations (10, 20 and 30% of the 96-h LC50) CdCl2 which caused significant changes in concentration dependent manner in the hepatic and ileal tissues. The hepatic tissue lost its characteristic architecture, with increased vac...

Retinal light input is required to sustain plasma melatonin rhythms in Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus niloticus.

The aim of this work was to confirm previous findings suggesting that the eyes are required for night-time melatonin production in Nile tilapia and further characterise this divergent circadian organisation. To do so, melatonin levels were firstly measured in eyecups and plasma to determine circadian patterns of melatonin production. Secondly, the effect of partial ophthalmectomy on the suppres...
